| Rue Harrison
is an artist and practicing psychotherapist
living in the Bay Area. In 1991, when a mysterious deep blue animal first
appeared in one of Harrison’s paintings, she was living in a neighborhood
of hundred-year old Victorian homes in the island community of Alameda,
which lies just across the bay from San Francisco. On frequent walks through
the neighborhood, she enjoyed studying the landscape and ornamentation
choices the owners of these elegant old homes had made in presenting a
face to the community. It wasn’t long before elements from these
walks began appearing in her paintings. |
