Meet Indigo Animal
Hello! Even though I'm shy,
I'm going to tell you about myself because I'm also very persistent. I HAVE
LEARNED HOW TO GO BEYOND THE KNOWN TERRITORY. At first I felt lost, but things
began to come into focus -- and I began an in-depth study of lawn statuary.
You can start by looking
at the books Rue Harrison writes about me. The first book, Indigo Animal,
is about how I began my early research. For instance, I began to discern that
some statuaries, although derived from classical forms, did not produce the
optimum enjoyment/satisfaction response."Why?” I wondered. You can
read about where such questions led. There are other mysteries revealed, too,
like what some of the other blankets in my closet look like, and why I don’t
wear them anymore. It also shows how my unexpected discovery of the Institute
came about.
The second book, Indigo Animal and the Lawn Statuary Research Institute
continues my story, starting on the first day of class at the Institute. Suddenly
I’m in a world full of animals of different stripes (and non-stripes).
You’ll meet the Institute’s founder, Orange Bearcat, self-described
“Feline Visionary of the Americas,” and Dame Eleanor Marmot, noted
scholar of ancient statuary and former “Fountain Restorer to the Queen”!
But that’s just the beginning…
You can also find me in works &
conversations magazine, where my story is being serialized.
